Dr. Lai chaired and presented in the symposium “Towards an understanding of how the cytoskeleton and intracellular transport are regulated for synapse development and plasticity” during the International Society for Neurochemistry–Asian Pacific Society for Neurochemistry (ISN-APSN) 2022-23 meeting at Honolulu, USA.

We are excited to announce a new Ph.D student in our lab. Welcome, Xiaojie Wang!
She is currently in a joint-Ph.D program with Sichuan University and will be staying with us for 3 years.

We hosted a laboratory visit for the Hong Kong Brain Bee Competition finalists in CityU. After introducing our latest neuroscience research, the students had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in operating both live-cell and confocal microscopes to image neuronal synapses. They also performed kymograph analyses to analyze dendritic mRNA molecule movements using ImageJ/FIJI.
We hope to have fostered their interest in pursuing neuroscience-related careers in the near future.
